A Legacy continues… over a half-century has passed, yet time circles back to New Beginnings. My parents and grandmother Florence G. Beck started one of the first Black newspapers “Jet Express”, in Omaha, Nebraska in 1964. I’m grateful and amazed by their tenacity to thrive during the gilded years of the ’60s: like today, facing civil rights, urban suppression, police brutality, unemployment, inadequate housing, etc. In the face of opposition and resistance, they continued to drop cannonballs on the community. Everyone has a story, if you’re willing to be transparent, someone needs to hear it, so they can be free!
